Corvette Club
Intro By: Margo Smith What a great day we all had yesterday even though the weather was not the best the company could not have been any better! I thank you all for coming out for this celebration. I have many folks to thank, hopefully I won't leave anyone out and if I do it is not intentional. First of all, thanks to Don Slifer for all the smoking of the meats, the beans and for carting 3/4 of everything you saw there yesterday around in his van. Thanks to Rowi for those delicious corn fritters. Don & Chris Soden for cooking all the chicken and to Chris for doing all the shopping for all the necessary items (beverages, eating utensils etc.). Thanks to all those who showed up early to help put things together, Doug Brandon, Rick & Kathi Crow, Don & Rowi Slifer, Don & Chris Soden, Greg and Shirley Morris. Thanks to Russ Slaten, who not only is a member but also works at Lithia, for arranging all the tables and chairs for us and for having the showroom set up for us to utilize it. I also want to thank Kim Nissen, no matter where she goes or whose event it may be she always steps right up and starts helping. Elly and Steve were responsible for making the wine that was presented to each membership in commemorative bottles celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Anchorage Corvette Association. A huge thank you goes to both Steve and Elly for the time spent on that project. Rowi made the beautiful labels for those bottles. I looked around yesterday and saw folks enjoying their day, everyone was talking with everyone and there were many car clubs represented in that room. For me, that is one of the best indications that it takes all of us to make things work. I thank all of you for spending your afternoon with us, thank you for bringing your dishes for everyone to enjoy and I hope no one left hungry. This was one of Dave's favorite events, I know he was watching us and I know that he knows how much he was missed. Thanks again to all of you, sure hate the thought of having to park the cars for the winter. Take care, Margo Photos by Suz Troutner
